Weekend Freewrite: 10/27/2018- Single Prompt Option: dry lips

Dehydrated; the infection is complicated.
The heart palpitates, blood pressure fluctuates.
The ice chips are mere blips on dry lips.
The drips turn into small sips.
The stomach does more flips.
Tsunami was not meant to be.
Drip, drip, drip into the I.V.
The blood transfusion adds to the confusion.
Beth took her last breath; a senseless death.
