Day 106: 5 Minute Freewrite: Friday-Prompt: The smell from within
Today is Groundhog day, and everyone wondered what Punxsutawney Phil would have to say.
To find out, the man in the top hat would have to pay.
The smell from within the hole reeked; it smelled like sin.
The odor collected under his brim, and he gave the crowd a half-ass grin.
Holding his breath he pulled out Phil,
The man would have been dead, if looks could kill.
Phil was pissed, after many months in a deep sleep.
He wiggled his snout and said, "I only say meep!"
Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today, six more weeks of winter is here to stay.
"No! No!" I yelled to the weatherman king. "You are so wrong! Bring on Spring!
I can't believe you! I will not!"
And I left the lot...Man! My temper was hot!
The next morning I woke up to a blizzard, and I was mad as hell at the weather wizard.
"I'll get back at you, if it's the last thing I do!"
For the next 6 weeks, I would not let Phil rest, as I was on a quest.
I stomped on his hole, to arouse his soul.
My anger grew, and the fog horn blew.
"Wake up Phil! It's me, @whatisnew! I've come to haunt and taunt you too!
I sure am hungry for groundhog stew; the pot is ready, all I need now...is YOU!
Please Phil, just give me spring and I will leave your side,
But if you don't abide, I will SURELY have your hide!"

I watched the Phil fiasco. Stupid and cruel . Discuses me. Hoping Phil would bite the handler.
It is crazy how so many people gather there in PA to celebrate Groundhog Day.
