I woke at dawn with sun streaming through the window. Pain shot through my wrists and ankles and the realization that I was a prisoner rushed into my consciousness. I opened my mouth to scream, but a dirty gag was secured across my mouth. The shooting pain in my wrists and ankles I could attributs to secure ties on all four. My fingers were numb. I was paralyzed both physically and mentally.

My brain flashed back to returning from a dinner with friends. The man who captured me last night walking from my car was dark and had worn a black hood over his bulking features. Blackmail. They had to be blackmailing my husband! Dane was successful and the merger just completed last week. Dane had warned me to be watchful, but I wasn't concerned. There has been multiple newspaper articles regarding the bitter controversy over the purchase of Andtrin. AI intelligence is safely guarded and the opposing company, Marlix, fought for two years to win rights over Andrin's growing corporation.

The door to the small room I was held in banged open with a slam against the wall by a black booted foot and a man stood above my bed glaring down at me. He pulled out a sharp blade and began cutting through my ties. I screamed silently and thrashed helplessly on the lumpy mattress.

"Don't move, Bitch," he growled as he sawed the rope at my left wrist. "Your is ransom is met. Unless you prefer staying here, I suggest you lay very still!"
