I've never had to be part of an evacuation... Yet. I'm fortunate to live in a place that's so far has not seen this type of ordeal. My sister was in Miami, downtown, last year when hurricane threatened. I spent some nail biting hours watching the news and communicating with her via text message until her phone died and then just plain worried until I heard from her the next day that all was clear. I hope to never have to jump in the car and do this kind of evacuation. It all seems so frightening.
