Tasting Colors [freewrite challenge]

Today's freewrite prompt from @mariannewest: green droplets

He could hear each drop hit the stopper in the drain... now. The drops had probably been plinking since the game ended, but his eyes on the book drowned out anything his ears might have noticed.

"Shut off that water, would ya?" He looked up at his wife on the couch, but she wasn't. His head shifted toward the kitchen, then back. "Barb?"

He set his book down, pages spread open like a willing woman. "Barb?" He walked down the hall and into the bathroom. A wet grass stain had splattered in the sink, and each droplet forming from the faucet was tinged green. He tried to tighten the handle, then tried to open it up, but it wouldn't shift.

"Barbara!"

He turned to dry his hands on the towel and noticed a green handprint on the wall. About the size of Barb's hand.

He checked the bedroom, the closet, the back deck. Then he noticed the front door was open just an inch, like an undecided woman. He peered out and saw Barb grasping handfuls of grass, then shoving them into her mouth. Last week the water had dripped blue and she'd eaten half of an indigo sock before he stopped her. She saw him and stood up, dropping the clumps of grass in her hand. Her eyes bore into him and she took a step in his direction.

Then he remembered he was wearing his Packers jersey...
