Whipping cream.

Whipping cream by hand is a tedious job, but Jo-Jo didn't hold to electronics. There's pride to be had in hard work, anyhow, and strong arms to be made by whipping cream. Trouble was it was hot and the cream just wouldn't take shape. Jo-Jo kept trying for a good fifteen minutes, then threw the whole bowl against the wall, cream flying everywhere. There. That was satisfying. Sometimes the weather and the food didn't go so well for no AC and no mixer, and then the only thing to do was make a big old mess. She walked out of the kitchen, leaving the mess behind her, because when one was frustrated enough to make a mess like that, one didn't want to clean it up right away. She kept walking all the way out the front door, leaving her apron in a heap behind her, and walked straight down the street to the McDonald's with their AC and electronics and non-food food. She ordered a big old strawberry shake and sat down in a booth to drink it, sipping away with a fat straw until she felt cooled down inside and out. Maybe by the time she got home, Drake would have cleaned up the kitchen for her.
