Based on the explanation of my dad that COCONUT TREE is the TREE OF LIFE because all parts are very useful.
USES OF THE COCONUT TREE BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
The Leaves (DAHON)
It is used as the roof of the house, for hanging rice, weave hats, mats, decorations, toys (like balls for kids and etc.), and walls of the house.
The flesh (UNOD)
It can be raw or cooked. The raw flesh can be a used for salads, shakes or dessert in the Philippines. The cooked one can be used as mixtures of bread, rice cake, and other delicacy available in the different part of our country. The grated coconut can produce oil that is useful for cooking in our daily food and organic medicine. It can also prevent hair damage, moisturize the skin, and sunscreen too.
Steps on how to apply Fresh flesh for our hair.
- Get one old coconut
- break into two
- get a grater
- squeeze the flesh
- Put the oil into your hair.
- Apply it every day
- Smooth and descent hair all day long.
The Palm branches (PALWA)
It is used for firewood or fuels in cooking, chairs, and decorations.
The stalks(Tukog)
It is used for brooms, decorations, wave basket, and even toothpicks.
The coconut sheath(Takong)
It is used also as our firewood, decorations and basket
The Spathe and inflorescence (BUTAY)
It is used for brooms and decorative materials. It is also the part of the coconut that produces coconut wine (tuba) which is good in phytochemical and omega 3. It is also our source of income before because my dad used to have it in our coconut tree.
The husk (BUNOT)
It is also used for firewood or fuel in making bread, rice cake, decorations, toys, and mattresses for the fiber. We also used it to clean our floor, pots and utensils.
The trunks(Lawas sa Lubi)
Our house before is made up of coconut trunks which made into planks, used as board, and partitions of our houses.
The water
A lot of health benefits that we can get such as great for treatments for sunstroke, urinary problems, and stomachache. When going home in our place, I used to drink it instead of natural water.
The Heart
It is commonly used as food name CHINESE NGOHIONG (Chinese Spring rolls) and other types of food.
THE GUINIT
We used it as a strainer and the first to light before the firewood.
THE Shell
It is also used as firewood specially cooking bread and rice cake. It is also used in dancing "Maglalatik" and other ethnic dance. It can be used as decorations, flower and plant pot.
THE ROOT
It is used as medicinal plants which is to treat gall bladder, urinary infections, kidney-related diseases, heartburn and eczema.
Thank you and God Bless...

Thank you everyone! God bless
Ahhh... I love it when things have SO many uses AND you can use every part of it! I use coconut oil in my hair and on my skin. It is awesome. I also love to eat it. Unfortunately, I'm stuck living in the US in Oklahoma, so there are no actual coconut trees.
Great post!

Wow it's good to know that you are using the coconut oil. It is good also for slimming specifically the virgin coconut oil.... We are blessed that we have a lot of coconut trees here in the Philippines.
Thanks for the new prompt @byn.
God bless!

Now I wish we had some coconut trees. I love that every part of it can be used. I need to start using it in my hair, and buy more things with coconut in it. Thank you for sharing this great post.
Thanks for appreciating @pixiehunter. Yes, the Philippines is rich with coconut trees.... hopefully you can visit here sometimes. GOD bless
I love learning about different cultures so this was very interesting for me. I also love how people live off of the land (like this coconut tree) and enjoyed reading about all of its great uses. My daughter gave me a gift and it is Coconut Oil by Nutiva. She uses it for a lot of things, especially as a replacement for butter when cooking. I use it on my skin and I love it. The Tree of Life is a perfect name. : )
I am very glad for taking time to read my entry for #freewrite. Yes. THE TREE OF LIFE. God bless us always
Wow, nothing wasted and so many good uses for the coconut tree and it's delicious seed. (I had to search to find the poper description as I almost referred to it as fruit!)
Nice article!
Thank you also @wandrnrose7... God bless...
