Family~ They love you no matter what! sometimes .....
Hi Everyone!
This is my Day 105 - Freewrite: Prompt: elephant
If you have never done a @mariannewest Freewrite do yourself a favor and give it a go!! You will be so happy you did!!
This one brought back a ton of childhood memories!!
I can not remember a time when I didn't know about or love elephants.
I'm not sure why.
I don't remember the time they became so important to my life but I also don't remember when they were not important and for a girl that grew up in the States, in the one that is called Wisconsin, it really makes no sense.
The only ones we have near, are at the Zoo.
Did I read a storybook that had one in it? I know there is a children's book with one but I also know that was never on my the reading list.
How do I know? because I went from Hop on Pop to Nancy Drew to all the YA fiction in my local library before I was ten years of age.
When you have a mother that reads a book a day and makes you have quiet time your goal in life is to be like her and be able to read a book a day which means you have to learn to read and not just Go Spot Go!
I once asked my Mom if she had ever seen a wooly mammoth...........yes, I was one of those kind of kids.
I don't think she talked to me the rest of the day!
I'm not sure if I was sent to my room or not but I will never forget the look on her face when I asked the question!
She still brings up that story to this day with a twisted look on her face but she still loves me! ❤
Much Love,
Snook
Hahahaha I can picture grandmas face! Hahaha that is too funny! I love it, and YOU!!! ♡♡♡
Love YOU too and :D yes LOLLLLLLLL it's was/is funny :D
:) Mu kids did ask me if I was alive when there were dinosaurs lol they were little - I forgive them.
But I don't forgive adults who ask me if I remember World War 2 and how it was in Germany. The war ended 72 years ago - and I know that I don't look that old LOL
Lol now that is too funny. :-)
OMGosh, NOOOOOOOOOOO you don't even come close to WW2! Ohhhhhhhh that would suck!!!!!!!!
thank you for the laugh though!! :D hugs
The last time a saw a real elephant was probably 5 years ago in the zoo... I always liked elephants too... There is a a couple of zoos here in the city... now I wanna go and check them out again :) Thanks for sharing this beautiful story... I'm glad you don't get in trouble anymore if you ask about mammoths :)
HA! Thanks :D Nooooo I learned to never bring that story up anymore!! :D
There is just something so special about elephants. Not sure what it is but I'm not complaining!!
Thanks for stopping and reading!! :D
haha.... You're welcome... Ok... I won't tell anyone lol :) I always enjoy your reads.
HaHa! What a question to ask your Mom! I bet you are happy now that you had to read so many books while growing up. I sure wish my Mom made me read. I had a lot of catching up to do with my own kids. : )
I AM and I did the same with my son <3 and catching up is always a pain lol but I give you credit that you made sure your own got to know the joy!!
Haha, great story! I definitely used to pick on my mother when I was younger, suggesting that she and her siblings used to ride dinosaurs to school. ;-) And I almost always had my nose in books, too! I still remember the first novel I bought - I was 7 years old and bought Dealing With Dragons at the school book faire. I suppose dragons, for me, are what elephants are for you! :-)
Ohhhhhhh shiny new books at school book fairs!! I use to save every penny I could find for that!! :D and yes, Love dragons too :D
“It’s because we were born in different centuries.”
-my daughters favorite reminder when she learned about centuries
HA! very smart daughter!! That is a great one!!
I might have to try that one on my son loll that would stop him in his tracks :D
Thank You so much for stopping!
That is sweet :D
Thank you <3
Lol out of the mouths of babes was the old saying. Before I did my freewrite, I was debating on what the write about them. They are magnificent creatures. Did they have books on them? I loved Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. I think that's why I love mystery novels.
I'm sure they did. It's has a huge children Libray but I just don't remember why or when LOLL :D
thanks for stopping and reading!!
You're very welcome. Am still trying to recall if I ever read a book with them as a child, lol.
I can just see you asking what a woolly mammoth was! Our mothers seem to be very much alike in my love of elephants occurred just a couple of years ago. When I do my freewrite I will talk about that!
I LOVED your freewrite!!! and yeah it was very funny now, in my head :D
Thank You!! hugs
I think it's beautiful that you wanted to be just like your mom! A dear friend of my lives elephants as well, and I think that will be my freewrite today!
