Day 185: 5 Minute Freewrite
The Basket
Under a tree filled with rainbow colored leaves sat a basket. A plain ordinary basket. You could tell it was handmade with care. The outside didn't have special markings. When glancing at this basket it did have a bit of golden shimmer to it but not enough shimmer to see it unless you really looked at the basket close.
If you did happen to see the shimmer, it made you want to look a bit closer at the basket. The closer you found yourself to the basket a wailing sound could be heard. To get up next to the basket, covering both ears was a must. The pain to your ears, skull, and body from the wailing emanating from the basket should have turned any sane person away.
Ahhh, but what is life without some adventure?
Going this far you try and look inside the basket to see what it contains. Why not, you are almost deaf now. You have endured so much already to get this close you find it's not in your nature to turn back now.
Hands over ears, you try and peer into the top of the basket. Finding only a golden blackness within you start to feel anger well up inside you.
There is no turning back, hands off of your ears, wailing pounding into your skull, you reach down to grab the basket with both hands.
Anyone that would have happened by at this time would have seen a man mouth agape screaming at the top of his lungs while their body slowly started to glow golden.
Your world turns on its axis.
Still screaming, you look around, realize the noise you heard was all the other persons that saw the gold glimmer too, didn't take the warning of the wailing to stay away, found themselves now locked for eternity inside a basket under a beautiful tree full of rainbow-colored leaves.
