Tried Indian train journey?

If not, then you got to try it once. We Indians prefer train over planes. I know I know, why the hell would anyone prefer trains over planes? Plains are faster and saves a lot of time, but nothing can beat an Indian train journey that gives you the true Indian feeling. Indian train journeys make friends for life.

A single train journey would make you taste the true essense of India. The filthy toilets, buggy berths, scribbled walls and the littered floors is something that you cannot find in any trains in other countries.

Now if you are thinking that I am complaining about the Indian railways, one of the largest organization that hires millions of indians, then you are completely wrong. I am complaining about we Indians who cannot care for our public properties. We lack that skill and it is no lie. Our Prime Minister had to start a special campaign to tell us that we need to keep our surroundings clean. Likewise, we are waiting for a campaign that would tell us to keep our trains clean and tidy, only then will we mend our ways.

Trains are the lifeline of India. Not everyone in India can prefer to fly by planes. Train journeys are affordable and has the best network. You can reach any part of the country with little money you have. There are innumerable trains that connect innumerable stations.

The filthy toilets, littered floors, bugs around the berths are not created by railways. Every train undergoes sanitization process before it starts on a new journey, but unfortunately the travellers think of it as the duty on the part of Indian Railways. After all why do we pay?? This attitude is the problem.

Well, what bothers me more is the regular thefts
Of railway properties. A year ago, Indian railways started a special Mumbai-Goa semi express train with state of the art facilities that included LCD screen infotainment kits. Within a month there were reports of thefts which the Railways fixed thinking that thefts would reduce with time. Recently when they revieved this premium train they found the problem to be same, actually worse. It took no time for Indian Railways to pass an order to remove all special facilities that the train is loaded with.

I guess we deserve that and then we say, other countries have better facilities in their trains.
