Pet names

Pet names are so fun. Everyome in my family have unique pet names that they have named for some reason.

My dad is known as 'Babu' a Konkani ( mother tongue) name for baby for he was the only son and was pampered a lot.

My mom is better known to the city as 'Baby' because her sisters were learning 'A' for Apple and 'B' for Baby when she was born.

I am named 'Pinna' ( a Konkani slang for very small) because I was a premature baby and was very small. They didn't expect me to live long with that look, but I made it.

My brother @shenoy is named 'Tamma' courtesy me. Tamma means younger brother in our regional language and I went around telling people that I have a 'Tamma' now. People kept asking me how my 'Tamma' was and that name is still struck with him.

My elder son is called 'Yappa' because my dad had the bizzare habit of calling him by bizzare names and forgetting it. It was just this name that he remembered and hence he named him 'Yappa'.

My younger son is pet named as 'Hiroshi' for his brother loved that name of a character from the famous Japanese Manga series. He always told me that he would have a sister and he would name her 'Hiroshi'. We were so used to that name that we couldn't think of anything else even after it turned out to be a brother and not a sister.
