Day 124: 5 Minute Freewrite: Tuesday - Prompt: Snake
The first board game that was introduced to me was The Snakes and Ladders. I used to enjoy this game so much back then. After school, I would rush to the bedroom to get the board and ask my brother to play with me. We used to have 3 snakes and ladders boards in different sizes.
Now that I have grown, I have also outgrown playing the game. Yet, the realization I had while looking at the board after college still remained in me.
The game can be a metaphorical representation of life. Each snake could represent the challenges and hardships that we go through life. However, it's no dead end. Ladders show up whenever we need them - through people, circumstances, and opportunities.
We only need not lose sight of the goal. And that is to succeed and win!
It really is like this, the challenges of life are hard, but if we persist we will find those stairs that take us high, to success in life, good story, congratulations :D

I too played snakes and ladders. You surprise me with such a powerful rendition of what 'just a game', of many years ago, could mean to our lives.
I am, honest to say, inspired by how you relate to to our live's and challenges.
This is easily the most educative story of the prompt. I mean this, at least in my own opinion.

Whao. Very glad to here that. We all have to learn from each other, and keep improving. That is the secret. I think when i look back on my works since joining steemit about 70 days ago, that my present works are much more improved than when i started. And that is down to the willingness to learn.
Keep writing, stick to quality, finally it pays off. My works are certainly starting to pay off now. But look at how many posts and how long i have been around, such a long while, and so many posts. What does that mean? perseverance. It works, and i encourage you to have the same.
And sooner from $0.0... the upvotes and earnings and recognition and improvement in your writing will all come.

Thank you. It is really encouraging. I, too, have noticed my improvements. And reading different articles helped me to learn a lot and improve a lot.
Indeed. Perseverance is the key. There are times I would lose heart in continuing. But I take inspiration from everyone who never stopped writing and contributing. And eventually, all their efforts have paid off.

Is the game really called Snakes and Ladders? I grew up with the same game called Chutes and Ladders. Same meaning.
I don't have any idea. hehe. That's how we call it even before. Maybe they have different names in different countries but the game mechanics are the same. :)
