Day 104: 5 Minute Freewrite: Wednesday - Prompt: Cigarettes (Should I try or not?)
This is my entry for @mariannewest's Daily Freewrite. Thank you @mariannewest!

Cigarettes. It started with curiosity as all others are. My dad would usually ask either my brother or me to buy cigarettes from a neighbor's store. Coming home with the cigarette, I would try to imitate my dad how he puffs it. It gave me thrills. It used to excite me buying cigarettes for him. 'til I reached college and studied away from home. There were a lot of peer influences. I started drinking. The idea of puffing a cigarette was still in my head but I was too scared to try it or maybe, ashamed.
Then, a friend offered a stick. Told me it was from her classmate's dad who just came from abroad. "Should I try or not?", I asked myself. Curiosity was strong and the temptation was stronger. I smiled and nodded. We waited 'til everyone in the dorm was asleep and climbed to the rooftop. There! I finally had my first puff! Savoring that moment of relief that finally, I was able to feed that curiosity.
Did I like it? Nope. That was my first and my last.
Great freewrite... and great choice to not get that habit started! It is way too hard for most people to quit.
