Every week there is a house burned down by a fire started through electrical, candles fallen over, flu fire, maybe even hit by lightning. Then we have the burning of whole communities by a wildfire started by carelessness, an accident or on purpose ~leading to millions of dollars damage and sometimes loss of life.

Right now there is a world crisis wildfire ~ the Amazon Rainforest is burning and has been for the last three weeks. This is so serious and the loss of the Amazon will affect the health of the world.

The Amazon is the world's largest tropical forest. At least 20% of the world’s oxygen comes from the rainforest. The smoke can be seen from space. The fires have grown so intense last Monday they blacked out the sky above Sao Paulo, Brazil's largest city.

I don’t know what is the problem but Brazil President Bolsonaro declined $20 million in aid from G7 world leaders. This has to be resolved quickly and every possible help applied to stop the wildfires in the Amazon.

Nice write up Red, got my puny 100% worth nothing upvote.

Thanks Jerry @jerrytsuseer. I appreciate it anyway. 😊

Alaska is burning too. I have been worried about the wold for a long time - but it is getting intense these days...

I feel the same way Marianne @mariannewest. It is a serious state of affairs.

@shasta who lives in Alaska has a post Here on the fire in Alaska.

@redheadpei - so sad that the fires in Amazon are not even a major news story. And the Brazilian president TURNED DOWN aid? What is up with that. Things are dire.

It all seems unbelievable. The last I heard was Brazil's president has appeared to backtrack on his refusal to accept $20 million in G7 aid to help fight the Amazon fires, saying he would consider accepting the money if French President Emmanuel Macron were to apologize for calling him rude.

President Jair Bolsonaro refused the money in a Monday tweet, saying the G7's offer of help to "save" the Amazon made Brazil seem "as if we were a colony or no man's land."

The fire is burning the amount of about 3 football fields a minute. I can’t believe a president would put his hurt pride before saving something so important.

That's absolutely horrendous and ludicrous! But I could see the same thing happening in our country.

Africa was recently given the name of "The Continent of Fire" and I read an article today about the current fire stats. Angola was the first with 6000 fires this year. Followed by the Congo with 3500 and I cannot remember the third one.
I know that over here the Western Cape has also had over 1000 fires.
Many started by arson and others are to burn forests down in order to make space for farming. Of course in the very hot areas of the continent mother nature starts her own fires.
I have a feeling that if something drastic is not done to halt this worldwide destruction, we will reach the point of no return.
Blessings!

Yay! My 100% vote gave you a massive two cents! How sad!

For sure Stephen, The trees are the guardians of the earth and if we keep losing them we are all in trouble.

Thanks for your two cents. It is appreciated and great compared to my sad VP.

Glad that you liked my two cents Lady Jo and I don't think that its going to improve soon at the rate that steem is going.
But of course there's always hope.
Blessings!

Howdy redheadpei! You know what? I can't believe the wealthy countries with lots of high tech equipment and planes and helicopters don't just go down there anyway and start putting the darn thing out! That fire is alarming!

Morn’n Cowboy! I think they should just go there too.

Amazon rainforest wildfires have been blamed largely on deforestation carried out for agricultural purposes and about 500 people have been arrested..finally a ban on setting fires there.

Yeah I heard that they were cutting down huge swaths of forest for wood? That sounds crazy to me. But the fire ban is a good start.

Nice theme of Amazon Rainforest .
