Five Minute Free Write ~ Today's Topic: One Year   

So much can happen in just one year. Usually each year comes & goes and things pretty much stay the same, or things change slowly over time. But there are many events that can happen in life that can change your life dramatically – in less than a year. For instance: you can find out you’re pregnant and then just nine months later, you can have a baby. That’s quite a change in life, for sure! Sometimes bad things that can happen quite unexpectedly: moving, illness, divorce, marital affairs, car accidents. But, it’s not just bad things – sometimes amazingly good things can happen suddenly: winning the lottery, meeting the love of your life, finding a new best friend, getting a new inspiring teacher, winning an award, losing weight on a diet, starting a garden.   

One thing that changed for me over the past year (little over a year now) is that I joined Steemit. I have made many new friends, and joined in many collaborations with art, written poetry, taken many more photos than I might have otherwise (maybe), and I earned quite a bit of steem which enabled me to feed my family for a few months earlier this year as I “powered down”. It was amazing! I got paid for blogging, doing art, writing poetry and commenting on things I felt were important. It was so nice to be able to go grocery shopping with my Bitcoin debit card and buy food! I powered down most of my steem power, and am now starting to build by steem power up again – almost from scratch. But, this time – I am starting with almost 1000 followers. I am looking forward to seeing how this next year or so progresses here on Steemit. I am so happy to be here! Onward & upward!
