WHY GARDENING IS A SEASONAL HABIT FOR US ?
Usually gardening is a seasonal word for many of the people of my place . Every barren land in the backyard of their house would get nurtured or gardened only for a month . Just a month before the festival called Bathukamma, my sister along with my grandma would sow all the required seeds of some special flowers . They would then turn the barren backyard into one of the most beautiful place by gardening and taking care everyday . It's because of their utmost care every flower opens with a gentle smile from it's petals . They would separate the flowers from their branches and arrange them in a beautiful way just like stacked tiered cake . This festival is characteristic of women and they worship the goddess by offering these flowers . After the prayer they would place the flowers in a lake or some water bodies nearby . These scientific reason of placing flowers in water is that many impurities present in water would be killed and some harmful creatures are driven away . e.g. marigold flower is used as a mosquito repellent and it would make the water body free from mosquitoes .
lol !! once the festival is completed , the land would once again become barren land but some people generally use it for growing vegetables .
