UNDER THE DARK CLOUDS

The once clear sky began to fill up with clouds, dark clouds that prevented sun rays from reaching the residents of Earth. With this sudden atmospheric change, it was obvious that rain was imminent. Looking upon these clouds, I saw electrical discharges in the form of lightning. It was as though these clouds were preparing to strike down every habitant of the world below. People began to walk hastily, eager to reach their destination on time. No one wanted to be drenched by the coming rain. The wind began to blow heavily, raising both dust and dirt. Ladies ran across holding their skirts down for fear of the unknown. As the wind blew harder, the cloud released its first drop. Rain had officially began.

As a child then, I began singing the rainfall rhyme I was accustomed to “Rain Rain go away come again another day” but the rain seemed not to hear my melodious plea. Well, since the rain decided to halt my playtime outside and there wasn’t anything to keep me occupied indoors. I ran outside to play in the rain. Played for a while before I began to shiver, I had definitely caught a cold. My parents yelled at me for my action, but that was all they could do. I’m glad it wasn’t pneumonia. The clouds disappeared after few hours of downpour and the sky was clear again.
