Today's prompt: Snake

Sandra and victor were in charge of their school's poultry. This school was a boarding school, so the eggs from this poultry was used in preparing the students dishes. Their work seemed menial, but was of great importance. They saw to the feeding of the Chickens, and retrieval of layed eggs to the kitchen. Most students envied them, because this kind of work provided the opportunity to keep some eggs for yourself. well I guess it was their good reputation that got them that position.

It wasn't long before shortage of eggs were noticed. It seemed something or someone was taking the eggs. On investigation, the barbed wire wasn't cut so all suspected that it was an animal from outside, probably a snake. This event continued for a week. Victor decided to take the bull by the horn and kill the snake that was feasting on eggs meant for them. He did a stake out one certain night, holding his torch and machete ready to pounce on anything that moved aside the Chickens. There the sound came, he heard the barbed wire shake...
