5 minute Freewrite - Represent

Hi all...
Precious just woke up with so much smiles, she tries her best to keep a positive mindset because life is short and so unpredictable. She sorted her books, ate her breakfast, said bye to her family and off she went to school.
Getting to school, all eyes were on her... It's nothing new to her, happens all the time. Then her friend ran towards her, "You've been chosen to represent the school for the annual reading competition"

Again no surprise whatsoever here, it's like a norm, she always represents the school when things like that pop up. She's always seen as the perfect student, calculative, respectful, intelligent and all that. Although she hates getting all the attention, to her, she's just being herself... Many parents tell their kids; "Can't you be like precious? Does she have two heads?". Precious really hates this , she doesn't like when parents do that, she does nothing extra to maintain that status, she feels she's blessed with too much brain. However, her brilliance has earned few friends and so many enemies in school and she can't blame them, if she didn't exist, their parents won't always make them feel bad about their academics even when they clearly put in their best.
Parents should really stop with the comparison, it kills their kids, let them do what they can to the best of their ability,all they need is guidance and encouragement not comparison.
