Weekend Freewrite - single option "...the smell of a dumpster!

The guys all gathered around at the bar. The place was old, it had the smell of a dumpster and didn't look much better. They had finished work for the day in the factories and the local tradies and they looked and smelt about the same as where they were!

Wayne - the bartender felt like crap - there had to be a better life than this. Maybe he could get out of bartending and go work in music or the film industry. At the moment that was not to be...
He handed out more drinks to the guys who had a running tab at the bar.
"How's it going Harry? All ok for you?
"Yeah Wayne - couldn't be better!
They chatted about sweet nothing and stared across at the TV. On the news, another musician had just ODéd after being cheated on by his partner - a famous actress.
He looked around at his friends at the pub - who came every afternoon after work to share their lives. The good and bad times. Maybe it wasn't so bad to be here after all...
