Freewrite Day 146 - Monkeys

The day was hot, and a little monkey was watching on as from across the barrier there were two little skinny, almost hairless runts were poking and pushing at each other.
It didn't make any sense. It's boiling hot, but they had material over their bodies. They stood in the hot sun instead of hiding in the shade like he was doing with his mum at the moment. They were eating smelly, disgusting rubbish instead of the nice fruit that was normally handed around.
None of it made sense.
One of the little munchkins started crying.
"That monkey keeps staring at me! He doesn't like me!"
A larger creature came up to it and put an arm around and soothed the little creature.
"Don't worry darling, That little monkey is just a baby. He's fascinated with the world and he's fascinated with you. He's fun to watch as he's also learning about us."
The larger mammal got both the little ones together. "It's getting too hot out here. How about we go look at the butterfly house - that's more enclosed."
They all walked off.
The mum looked behind - "Don't worry about them. They don't make any sense at all, but the good ones bring the food in regularly and the silly ones stay behind the barrier. If you're bored, they make something interesting to watch..."
Ha ha, very cleverly turned on its head, well written..
Thanks @ablaze! Gotta have a laugh!!
Ya definitely, I kind of float between the serious, the apocalyptic and the humourous..
I love the story from the monkey's point of view! I'm sure we look ridiculous!
Not necessarily, but maybe yes - in a zoo! 😊
;) yes!
What a cute story. Love the monkey being the story teller.
Thanks 😊
hahaha - very cute!
I like the monkey's perspective! I'm going to be thinking of this the next time I go to the zoo!
