Weekend Free Write prompt Late
This is my post for #freewrite Saturday prompt Late by @mariannewest
Today and yesterday I fished late. Yesterday was a bad day, everything that could happen happened. I was not catching anything and laid my pole down to get something out of my dry box. As soon as I took the lid off the box I saw my cork popped under. I reared back on the pole and somehow my little scissors flew ten feet in the air and landed twenty feet from the boat. The water was colored up so I could not find them. I hooked a big ass bull shark and somehow he cut my heavy mono. I tie a piece of 80-pound test to the braided line then a short piece of 30lb fluorocarbon to the 80lb. I was pissed because I had just tied new everything on. So I sit there and retied everything, I move and throw a bait and bam another bull shark but this time he just cut the 30lb line. I tie a new line and hook and move. I throw a bait, it is bumping good and I saw a boil by my cork that was as big as my boat is wide, I try to get my bait away from it but I am too late. That MFer took off, I must have hooked this one in the lip it took everything and a bunch of my line. rrrrrrrrrrr. I did not get home till 6:30. I missed doing my Free Write yesterday I fell asleep early and slept till 6 this morning.
I caught 14 trout that weighed 26 pounds
And I had 18 jacks that weighed 27 pounds
Today I was going to hunt for bait, the last time I ran my traps I only got 75 bait so I went looking for better bait. Some of my traps had good bait so I left them where they were and took ten with me to test set. I went to black point and threw the traps out and decided I would fish while they set. I started catching trout and never went back to see if the ten traps had bait in them. I will run them tomorrow. Not sure what time I got home but it was late.
I caught 38 trout that weighed 60 pounds
I do not know what is going on with my left hand, the skin is peeling off my fingers and it is tender where the skin is gone

@carolkean I already had boney fingers, lol. I remember this song.
Sometimes we have bad days but they become expereincias and anecdotes for tomorrow. Good days win in majority.
@isgledysduarte I have many experiences. I do agree good days win out. But we tend to remember more of the bad days.
Those bull sharks are a nuisance. If seems when one thing goes wrong, everything does.
Strange how your fingers are peeling. Maybe a drug store would have some kind of cream you could massage in to help.
@redheadpei it is strange, I think maybe it is because I catch my bait with this hand and hold fish with it when I unhook them. The skin is dead, I do not think it will revive.
Maybe a bacteria? I read about several people getting bacteria from the water. Go to the doctor, you never know!
@blacklux my hands are not an infection, the top layer of skin has peeled off, I have been thinking about it and it is the hand I catch my bait with and the same hand I grab the fish with when I unhook them. So maybe I am wearing the skin off That is all I can think it possibly could be. I do not want to go to the DR. when there is nothing they can do for it.
