The Brick That Was Bored

The brick was bored. He had been part of a newly built house for the past two years, but now he was of just sitting there and holding up the other bricks.

He had thought to take an adventure. But there was one thing holding him up. If he left, would the whole house come tumbling down? Is that a risk worth taking?

In the end, curiosity has got the better of him. He has decided to risk it and seek the outside world.

Slowly, the brick, known to himself as Mr Stone, pulled himself away from the other bricks. Slowly he does it.

Eventually he is away. He walks a few yards and takes a look back at the house. It is still intact.

That is a relief, the house is safe and Mr Stone can have an adventure.

He can see a town in the distance. He hears a voice.

“Hello.”

Mr Stone turns around to see the most beautiful brick he has ever seen.

“I'm Mrs Stone.”

“Hello, Mrs Stone,” replied Mr Stone. He is a bit nervous. “Do you have a first name?”

“Sharon,” replied Mrs Stone.

“Hello Sharon Stone. I'm Mike Stone. If we ever got married, do you realise that you wouldn't have to change your surname.”

“Woah, slow down,” replied Sharon. “We've only just met. Let's go for an adventure.”

“What do you have in mind?” asked Mike.

“There's a concert playing in the town. A band called Ash,” replied Sharon. “I hope you'll like them.”

“Let's go,” said Mike. “But by seeing a band called Ash, aren't we just cheating the prompt?”

“No,” replied Sharon. “That’s not how it works. The most important thing is that we all have fun. Anyway, I believe the plot changed as it was being written.”

“Oh,” said Mike. “What happened originally?”

“I guess we'll never know,” replied Sharon.
