Freewrite 5 min prompt: Toothache

Thinking about the past and recalling old memories is always a fun thing to do. I have been telling my dear Steemian community about some of the funny incidents that have happened to me in the past and I am going to continue that tradition in this post.

The time in which I was a school student the teachers would beat us a lot. The use of stick was common in our area and any student complaining about it would have to face repercussions. The traditions have changed now as students are taught subjects by incorporating different teaching techniques without pressurizing them.
One of my friends who was relatively weaker in the study once suffered from a serious “Toothache” and had to take a week-long leave to be back.

Then what?

Every time the teacher would beat the students in the class, he would save himself from punishment by saying that he is suffering from a toothache. Once a teacher was beating the students who had failed the test like a year later after his illness. That student again made an excuse that he is feeling pain in his teeth. The teacher laughed and asked him what kind of pain is this which did not disappear after a year even. The student in a humorous tone replied,”It appears as soon as the stick arrives”. This sentence from him made the teacher and the whole class laugh so much.
That friend of mine is now into Cloth business and rarely meets me but every time we meet I laugh and tell him how would he make excuses in school.
