Freewrite 5 min prompt: Clouds

I love cloudy environment since our area has high temperatures for like 8 to 9 months a year. The cloudy weather ultimately results in rain much to the relief and delight of the people of the area. I have some beautiful memories connected to clouds.

We as friends would come out of the home and would run around in cloudy weather and would swim in the water flowing in the streets after the rain. One time It was dark cloudy in the morning and I was supposed to go to school. Normally we would be hesitant to go to school but in cloudy and rainy days we would be eager to go and enjoy at school with friends. My parents told me not to go to school since it can rain any time but I did not listen to them and went.
Much to our delight, it began to rain just as we were taking our first class. After finishing classes, we came out of school and decided to go to a nearby stream to swim without telling our families. We went there and forgot to go home since we were overfilled with joy. Our parents went to school and enquired about us but the school administration told them that almost all of the kids have gone home. They were really worried. Suddenly I along with my neighbor friends appeared and our parents became angry and slapped almost all of us.

We never dared to go to that stream again but the fun and enjoyment related to cloudy weather continued for years.
