Weekend Freewrite -7/6/2019 - "Option"
A siren overstrained the ears of the crew from a secret nuclear submarine. Red alert! The old sea wolf, lieutenant Bolden, stormed in the control room, only to find the private Peters sitting with his hands on his head and an expression of desperation on his face. Bolden cast a quick look all the multitude of option switches on the launching panel and screamed
“Private Peters, did you flip the first switch?!” Peters jumped up and stretched himself in a tight narrow cord.
“No Sir, Lieutenant Sir!”
‘Thank God’ Bolden exhaled and whipped the drips of the cold sweat from his forehead.
“Did you flip the second switch?”
“No Sir, Lieutenant Sir!”
Calming a little, as the possibility of the full-scale nuclear world war was eliminated he nevertheless was still concerned.
“Did you flip the third switch?” Then the question pointer moved to fourth, fifth, six and so on switches. Every time hearing the answer “no” Bolden got calmer and calmer until suddenly…
“Did you flip the switch 35?”
“Yes, Sir, Lieutenant Sir!” he shut his eyes and tilted his head down and to the side as if preparing to receive a punch.
“My God! What did you do?!” Bolden screamed. ‘What a tragedy!’ he thought. ‘Yet of all the disastrous options this imbecile somehow picked the least horrible. Who cares about Greenland, anyway?’

I agree with you as I also like Greenland. Let's keep the amateurs away from important buttons. Better yet, if it were up to me, I'd get rid of all the nuclear weapons altogether )))
