Steemduck - 5 minute Freewrite Day 89 [ENG/ITA]

in #freewrite6 years ago (edited)

A characteristic phenomenon of the early Steempunk age was undoubtedly the fashion to build personalized means of transport, equipped with a Steem engine. The novelty of the Steem technology made a plethora of so-called engineers and inventors flourish. They competed to win the status of celebrities with increasingly showy and bold transports, often at the expense of functionality and security

Around 3 a.S. (after Steem), fashion was almost oriented towards means of transport with fish shapes. It is thought that this is due, as well as to inscrutable aesthetic canons, also to what Steemclimatologists today call "Steemical Rains Age": a wet period with many and abundant rainfalls, which caused annoying floods. Steem-powered vehicles with hydrodynamic forms would have had a practical function, and not just representing a status quo.

Without a doubt, one of the most original steemengineers of the era was Ulysses Drake. In between a continuous flourishing of fish of the most varied sizes, obviously according to the owner's wealth, Drake had the courage to participate in the 3 d.S. Steempunk Universal Exposition with his prototype of "Steemduck". Completely pressurized, equipped with periscope for navigation on the surface of water and legs functional for locomotion on land or on the seabed, the machine stood out in the panorama of the era.

"In a world of minnows, dolphins, whales and bananafishes, have the courage to be a duck!"

These were his immortal words before leaving for world tour aboard his prototype, accompanied by the highly-experienced expert of submarines, General @deaconlee.
These same words are now the motto of Anatronics Co., the first Steem-powered cars company in the world, founded by Ulisses Drake in person.
