Dear John,
It's exactly one year today. I can still remember everything vividly, how can I possibly forget an event that changed my life. I remember being on the hospital bed telling the Nurses "I'm okay" "I can walk".. "there's no problem" "I'm fine" while they warned me to be still, to stay calm and lay on the bed. The pain that followed after some hours, the excruciating pain in my left leg.

It was a good day actually before it all went the other way, I had closed from work as usual at 4pm in the evening. It's a Friday, time to go say Hello to my parents back home... My parents had called earlier asking if I'll be coming home for the weekend and I said "Yes" joyfully. I boarded the bus and proceeded on the journey. Everything happened too fast, I can't describe it... All I remember was there was a collision and I passed out.. the next time I opened my eyes were on the hospital bed struggling to stand while I'm being warned not to. It had happened that my left leg had been fractured at the ankle. The pain was horrible, I felt like dying.

The doctors came with their routine questions and informing me of a surgery they'll need to carry out... I wasn't having it cool, I just wanted it gone. I guess they understand how petty I was then.. I actually think I talked harshly on some of them. I begged at some point though. Many came to wish me well. Oh! I received so much love. It's overwhelming!! I'm just happy it all went well, I had a successful surgery and rehabilitation and today I can walk again without pain.

I remember during the 6 weeks which I had a cast on my left leg and little movements with equipment like crutches and wheel chairs. I remember trying to walk at the 4 week, I fell couldn't tell my physiotherapist though...I knew I risked a refracture, I was lucky though... It was the eagerness to walk again 😂😂 He would scold me I think, when my 6th week came and cast was removed my physiotherapist advised me to take 1-2 steps, I shocked everyone I took more than 12 steps, still remember the look on their faces. Thanks to everyone who supported me all through that period! I love you all 💟💟

A letter from Jenny to John.
