5 Minute Freewrite - Witches

Witches have always been wise women who knew what everyone else didn’t, that is, magic. And magic is merely technology we don’t understand yet. We do magic every day of our lives and don’t even realize that’s what we are doing. We mix potions that we then eat or drink for well-being. We cast spells every time we act upon our thoughts. Our broomsticks have been many over the centuries – from ground-pounding carts and wagons to speeding trains and planes that glide through our skies. We take this all for granted, but that’s what magic is.

In our history witches were no more than healers and spiritual advisors. The problems came when organizations claiming to represent God stepped in and took charge. They made witches evil, and their playmates demons because they feared the stiff competition we gave them. They still do, so they keep us down by telling us that our imagination and creativity are deviant.
