Wild! Wild!
Like a lion roar.
I don't usually talk aloud.

Roar!

Wild child. Mild child.

This little child wants shortbread shortbread.

He had a wild look in his eyes. Like he wanted to tear the flesh off a loquat and mash its juicy skin between his chompers. He didn't though. He restrained himself and took a delicate nibble. "Exquisite," he mumbled.

No matter how carefully he tried to talk around the fruit, though, somehow the juice gushed out of his mother and little bits flew from his lips with spittle. He was wild. He could not be a proper fellow.

Relenting, he place the entire loquat in his mouth and slurped around the seeds. He felt the smooth stones with his tongue, expertly separating them from the flesh. The plupluplup he pushed them out with perfect force and accuracy, spittooning against the base of the date palm so they nestled in a group.

The last of the loquats that he had picked went in his mouth. He'd been trying to save some for his wife and child, but he could not resist.

So he went back to the tree for more. It was a short walk, but it was a walk back. Three times the walk that had been.

Reaching for the ripest. Pluck.
