Skin -5minutefreewrite

Babies. Skin to skin contact. Because we are animals. The child in my wife's belly moves. There's something inside her that pushes her skin from the inside. I can't help thinking of a horror movie. I mean, it's fun and exciting and joyous, because I know it isn't a horror movie, but also, aside from pregnancy, the only time you see skin moving like that is right before something scary happens.

And also, let's not forget that childbirth is kind of scary. I mean, yes, people did it before modern medicine, but also people died doing it before modern medicine, and they still do sometimes.

Not that I'm particularly scared. There's no problems or anything, but, you know, these things can be scary. I look forward to loving my child and snuggling them. I hope they will be more cuddly even than the dog, but I suppose that's not super-duper likely. I expect they won't lick my face. You never know, though. At the very least, I expect them to ... no. I'll probably have to pick up their poop, too for a while at least. I guess dogs are better than babies. But once they get a little older...

Why am I comparing? I will love both my children equally. My dog. My dog is my other child. :P

I kid. Maybe. @stinawog says she looks forward to being a whole family unit. I guess I can get on board with that. But let us not forget that we are a global family, and the social construct of the nuclear family unit is a lie taught us by our capitalist overlords to keep working class families competing with each other for artificially scarce resources.

Nonetheless. I look forward to loving my kid.
