Idea for a project.... Totally unrelated to scratch. But I gotta scratch it off my list.
Ha.

No, I should write about scratch. Should I, though? One of our favorite shows is iZombie, and in that show, to turn someone into a zombie, you scratch them.

That's why the picture is what it is... But I have an idea for a project for a whale. I feel like they don't know how to use their voting power wisely. I mean, to be fair, when they don't use their voting power, everybody else benefits... Though I saw a loopy conversation that confused me a little...

Maybe someone can tell me. How much is in the rewards pool at any give time? And that's proportionately divvied up/awarded by the weight of the stakes that have votes on each piece of content... like vests... this is what vests do, right? Is this how the system works:

Let us imagine a simple system where there is 1 steem in the rewards pool, and only 2 users of steem, each of whom have exactly 1 SP.
If the users both upvote their own content, and that's all the action in the system between now and payout, they both get 0.5 Steem?
If one user upvotes her own content, the other user does nothing, the one who upvoted gets 1 steem?
If one user upvotes his own content, the other downvotes that content.... no one gets any steem?
If one user upvotes her own content, the other downvotes it, but only at 99%, the upvoter gets 1 steem?

Anyways, none of these were my project... The idea of the project would be that volunteers could talk about their volunteering in a post, and @volunteerpayday (or whatever) would pay them in upvotes! A means of encouraging volunteerism on the platform, thereby increasing the positive public profile of steemit.

And... record scratch!
