Today is not the first day of my diet. Indeed, I am not on a diet, though I have often thought that being on a diet would be a good thing for me to be. The problem, though, is that, while I want to eat more vegetables, sometimes sugar is just right there, and it is so much easier to eat than vegetables. Really...

No, not down that path.

The chalice was filled with thick black red liquid we associate with vampires. That's because there were vampires in the room all holding down their beastly nature for an opportunity with this blessed chalice.

The Frennoa Twins, 40-something year old fraternal twin sommeliers, were waiting with bated breath to see if the wine club, excuse me, book club, would enjoy their selection this evening. They were not the arrogant sommeliers that we often expect, who believe that there is one right wine for each occasion, or even that there are bad wines and good wines. No, they understood that taste is subjective and prided themselves on finding a wine that would appeal to whomever they were serving. Furthermore, they had to account for the many different palates, and the fact that plenty of expensive wines are basically the same as cheap wines, and no one really cares.

They were good sommeliers.

They were good at harvesting blood for the vampires. They had brought this mix of bloods from the wine... excuse me, book club, and

Serving more to a person's taste instead of that of others makes them very good! I wonder how pronounced the difference in taste was after different types of books? Would recipe books and manga be included in the club or only novels?

Of course! Because vampires have different tastes, too, and sometimes they want to drink the blood of people who just can't put down The Joy of Cooking.
