The scent of a good lavender perfume made her breath differently. She'd take tiny sips of air through her nose, as if trying to relish the delicate blossoms. While her main method of breathing involved gulping air in between bellows, she was always conscious of the impact that method of breathing had on her associates. It left them uneasy. And this was exactly like she wanted it.
Do you hear that deep throbbing tone? IN out IN... not even there anymore. There's a lot of vibrating air in the world, and this air is... Musical. She can hear the world throbbing now. It's not just an especially loud fella who doesn't have earplugs. It's a part of this world.
It's so imperative. Is it the aliens trying to communicate? Is it all in her head? It stopped.
Is this a momentary reprieve? It's not an altogether unpleasant sensation. But it's noteworthy. Very noteworthy. It's back. Is the world about to change? She'd be glad of that. The world has been too unpleasantly placid for far too long. Hoping for pleasant aliens to empower the working class, make capitalism obsolete. Make all the nonsense obsolete. Let the grasping for individual power and institutional power quickly become a relic of the past. Obscene that we went through that period. Now, though, we can move forward. Explore this big universe. Help each other. Help help help. No need for desperation any more. Oh, sure, we're human and we'll experience the personal desperation of love lost and the frustrations of attempting to accomplish difficult tasks and failing, but no longer have to scrabble for sustenance.
The world indeed needs us human helping each other and helping each other to help the world.
