Lizard Cave -5minutefreewrite
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Lizard Cave
Because of all the lizards that live in it.... and make it their Grave.
They love to bask in the warmth of New Orleanian days, and then they quietly chill in deep and dark old caves.
Hot and cold and cold an hot these lizards dream a dance.
Of sizzling sunlight and linguistics left to chance.
They speak a secret tongue
That does with lizard things.
It has a slithery quality, and the names of seven rings
The first ring is called Persepolis, the god of wind and pyre
That rushes through a burnham wood and heads on up a spire
It burns the cities near and far and keeps us all accustomed
To flitting in and our her thoughts, as if we were
AWAKE.
But only in the dreaming time can we see these leathery wings
and hear the whispers of the lizards as they sing of secret rings
The second is called Calliope
She swing in on a rope
She never loses hope
The sweet adventuring Calliope
And thirdly, but not last of all
We have a ring called Mordecall
Who loves the death of all things dear
And fills her lungs with something clear
Not air nor water, glass nor empty
she fills it with one and twenty
Diamonds that will demons call
And that is all and that is all.
