Nothing is Impossible with Love | Weekend 3-part prompt Freewrite - Love Like That

in #freewrite6 years ago (edited)
I wrote the following love story in conjunction to Happy Father's Day to dedicate the story to all the heroes in the world. You are the men.

Richard loved to surprise her, she was learning to love herself again. After almost one year of chemotherapies and alot of steroids, she lost all of her hair and even the hair of her eyebrows. This was not the greatest lost.

The one huge lost - a scary one - was the lost of her breasts. Yes, both of them. Yet, they had to be taken away from her in order to stop the cancerous cells from spreading.

Since then, she had never felt the same again. She felt so un-woman or dis-woman. Crying her eyeballs out and yelling for pain for nights would not help her restore her breasts. They were gone and gone forever. So was her confidence and self-esteem.

She used to be adored my many. Having perfect features and gorgeous body, she always had that confidence and elegance. However, all were gone. She had won the battle over breast cancer, but she had lost to her own critics from the realm of low self esteem.

She started taking up a lot of bad habits. She binged on soda drink, ice-cream, fast food and all the carbs. She occasionally would take alcohol and drugs. Dwelling in self-pity of her own, she often just laughed it off when good friends approached her to help her. Internally, she was hating her new body. It was flat. And she would rather flatten her life.

She saw herself as nothing else but ugly. Nothing she wore could give her back that sense of pride. Not able to rekindle it, she jeapordised it even further. She shaved all of her soft silky hair. There was nothing to lose since she had been bald before during the intensive chemo. Daily, she wore big loose top and baggy pants and acted like a rascal.

She had literally overtaken by her own negative thoughts of herself. By destroying herself more and more, there was a sense of confidence that what she did was parallel to what she thought. People advised her for counselling but she shoved them all.

Good friends started to stay away from her due to her stubbornness and bad attitude. Families were on the brink of giving up hope too. She yearned for the loved ones but she also feared them disliking her new look. So she ditched them first in a dilemma mode. Almost all of her friends could not stand her except one.

One whom once sent an old letter from Amsterdam to her 3 years ago. One who secretly admired her and had a crush on her after viewing her Facebook profile.

Richard was the guy who had been following her profile on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Steemit ever since she became a famous actress. Everything about her was all that he dreamed of. They had become social media friends but had never met before. Richard had dreamed about living the rest of his life with her. But she never thought he was her cup of tea. Richard was too ordinary a guy for a famous pretty woman like her. He was plain and noble. She was colourful and adventurous.

Living in her own darkness, satisfying her self-pity while sabotaging her own life, she cut off from the world. Richard found out something was not right when she became silent for quite some time in the social media platform. He quit his job at Amsterdam and flew all the way to Australia to find her.

After many attempts and many months of searching, he found her at a corner of a bridge, weak due to drugs. He fought with her many times to get back her consciousness and self-worth. Countless time, he brought her to hospital to be flushed. She stole his money for drugs countless times too. She beated him due to rage and hatred. He bailed her out from jail many times.

But he continued to surprise her with immense love and hope. The very first surprise was that he could recognise her in her rubbish state. She thought no one would ever recognise her - bald, smelly, without make-up, dirty. But Richard could.

Until today, he continued to surprised her when he knelt down and asked her "Will you marry me?".

Why me, since I have so many bad records in the past and I am not even sexy? She used to say this to him often until he convinced her she was the one for him.

She had changed alot the past 2 years ever since Richard's arrival at the bridge. She was still flat-chest but with heart that bloomed with love and soul that beamed with new-found self-confidence. She is now the voice for breast cancer survivors and also the ambassador of "Every Woman is Beautiful" campaign. They have two beautiful daughters; Grace and Faith.

Behind this great heroin lies a great hero.

This is my weekend freewrite using three-part prompt where you can only view the next prompt after you finish the current prompt. The 3-part prompt is stated below.

Prompt 1 (the first sentence) - Richard loved to surprise her, she was learning
Prompt 2 (the interference) - She started taking up a lot of bad habits
Prompt 3 (the dramatic twist) - an old letter from Amsterdam

I was so happy to find out the 2nd prompt flowed well with my 1st-part story. The 3rd one was a little bit tricky but hopefully I pulled it off well enough to link the story together.

So lovely. i hope to find mine in time.

It takes alot of laying down oneself to have another one to take care of. As long as you are ready to take care of another person whole life, vice versa, then also don't set such a high expectation like must be pretty girls etc. Face will grow old but a good heart and good wife stays with you. Just some thoughts for you to ponder and pray about :) I did on and off pray for you on this. GOD bless you. 😊

This is so good and lovely. What an awesome story you have written. The description and all were very touching and intriguing. I love it, @iamjadeline!
