"Your soup is ready, Tia!" Mummy's voice echoed till the upper floor.

Tia stomped down the staircase and quickly slurped her creamy butternut squash soup.

"Bye mom, got to go, I don't want to be late!" Tia ran out with her limping left leg. She was born with some deformity at her leg causing her to limp ever since she started walking.

Well, she seemed to be ready for her squash, despite her occasional nagging self-inferiority due to her leg.

"Tia with her limping leg!" some cheeky notorious friends' remark. Nah, she had no time for them!

All she dreamed of was to be a famous squash player like her late dad, whom trained her since young. Her entire life resolved around training and building up her stamina and muscles. Determined and persistence - were the correct words to describe Tia.

She squeezed through the crowd in the bus, as usual the bus would be packed and she would be squashed like sardine fish. The crowd, however, sort of helped her to balance up in the midst of the jerking bus.

She took a deep inhale before she stepped into the court. "You can do it as long as you don't give up. Own the court and own the ball and the racket. They are yours." She muttered the words by her dad.

Half way through, she tripped and fell down as she was catching the ball. She picked herself up, allowing nothing to squash her spirit, shunning the worry voices of the audience, and kept focusing on her role - to own the racket, ball and the court.

And...

She did it! She won the squash tournament!

After little celebration with coach and teammates, she rushed home, proudly holding the trophy in her hands. As she ran, the trophy limped together with her too.

"Mum! Mum! I won!"

"Dad! I won! Dad!"

She frenziedly stormed to the study room, stood in front of her dad's photo while holding up the trophy to show him.

"Dad, you are my best coach. Your effort paid off. I won dad... I won," while waiting for his reply, which many times, she had accepted the fact, it would be silence. Or own thoughts.

"I love you dad. I miss you so much."

"Tia, dad is watching over us all the time. You did great, hon. You got it and I am sure he knows," Tia's cheek was filled with tears as her mom hugged her.

"Daddy always said don't let my circumstance squash my spirit and always give thanks I have a pair of legs - strong legs to trample any obstacles."
