That has been so far the case. For all human frantic desire to discover other life forms in our universe or in distant universes, I wonder if discovering other forms would make any difference at all.
Not finding is certainly a depressing prospect, though, especially considering we are doomed to destroy life in our planet, probably way before it destroys itself.
