Daily 5 minute Freewrite - The first African in Space.

The first African in space was sent
to heal this human race.
To remind us all,
That we are one,
When we look in each others face.
Leave no trace.
Except from space it's easy to see that we're making a mess.
There's a trash can that orbits our very Earth,
and countless other travesties that many would rather not confess.
I digress.
Because from space there's one thing you can see.
It's a huge, beautiful, wonderful Planet,
that is the home to you and to me.
But we're not free.
Because when you zoom right in it's harder to see,
That I am you and you are me.
Every thing and every one is interconnected you see.
We may look separated,
But we are all but flowers that sprouted from the same ancient seed.
From space,
The African said -
It's so easy to see,
The oneness,
The sameness,
The truth of our Unity.
So I wonder... I wonder if this will ever be remembered
Or if we will continue down the path of destruction
As our entire species becomes dismembered.
Just remember.
We may look different,
But we're actually the same.
You could call us all God,
If you wanted just one name.
Or you could call us Life.
Or Freedom too.
But just try to see us all as one,
And see what good this perspective can do.
Because the first African in Space,
Said that exact same thing too -
That you are me,
and I am you.
Truth.
Truth resonates with all that hear it,
On the level of their soul.
Truth calls to us as we drift ever near it,
and slowly we begin to become whole.

Must be extra inspired to write poetry after entering @d-pend's amazing 100 days of poetry challenge! It's been awesome so far and really got my creative juices flowing.

Yes, this is exactly it. That's the true beauty of life! I have a tattoo - my first one - that simple says 'You Are Everything' and I knew it was right for me when I thought of it [Inspired by thing song - Noahs Boat - You Are Everything -
