5-Minute Freewrite Prompt: The Last Copy
"Hey, that's my last copy!" Darrel exclaimed.
Janet took the old photo from his hands and tore it all apart. She was trying to make sure there will be no trace of the "evidence" at all!
"Good, that should do it!" She turned around to look at Darrel who looked really disappointed. Well, after all, she tore the last bit of the photo of her being captured playing Charades. It was a game they played when they were young to copy the actions from the first person and pass it on for the last person to take a guess. She was first and Darrel was right behind her. She had to tell a sentence that goes, "Go over 3 bumps, turn right and take a U-turn and you have reached." with mere actions and no words.
She did her best and Darrel who knew nothing just copied as much as he could from her. Of course, the last person could not get it. The copy of actions became far from what she did by the time it reached the guesser.
Darrel didn't let her go since that day. He ridiculed her and teased her all the way since that day in the camp. Worse still, he developed many many copies of the photo of her in action and kept telling everyone. Janet felt horrible embarrassed and she had since sworn she would destroy one whenever she sees one. This happened when they were 15.
They are already now 24 and he is still doing it. Thank goodness she has finally reached the last copy and thank goodness they no longer develop photos from films. "No digital copy either. Thank goodness digital cameras and smart phones weren't out then, phew!" Janet said this out loud.
Darrel was still murmuring, "I have no copy left. That's the last copy!"
He walked away. What Janet didn't know was since that day he had to copy her 'dumb' actions from her, he has developed a crush on her. Him teasing her is just to see her cute and adorable reactions. He likes to see her jumping, trying to reach the photos in his hand. He hasn't got the courage to tell her how he feels exactly so that's they way he "lures" her to come near. Now the last photo of that memory they had together is also gone.

Looks like her 3 bumps and turn right and U-turn had her heart reached right into Darrell's.❤️ I do hope without the last copy, what is left will be courage for him to express his real feeling.
