Uncertain Future - Freewrite
Jimmy wrapped himself in his uncertain future. Sure, he was tied to a chair in a basement across from a man who's back was to him staring casually down at an arrangement of instruments designed to inflict pain and extract information. Things didn't always play out the way they looked though.
He recalled a time when he thought he knew what was coming. His wedding day. They had been to rehearsals, had it all planned out. That future didn't go as planned. She was dead now, and so many of the associates of the man across the room were as well. You just never know.
The man turned then, glistening metal in his hand that Jimmy came to realize was a bone saw.
"I have instructions to make this slow" the gruff voice said with a hint of glee as the man approached. Jimmy retreated further into uncertainty. Perhaps the jolt of pain would loosen a blood clot, sparing him what was coming with a convenient aneurysm. Perhaps the phone would ring and his would-be torturer/executioner would be pulled away on a more important task. A bead of sweat rolled down his forehead, stinging his eyes.
He relished the sting as the footsteps approached.
There was a knock at the door.

Hope he got saved!!!
