"Johnny Was A Vandal" - a "Five-minute Freewrite"
Johnny was a vandal. He walked around town with a big black sharpie in his pocket--ready for action whenever the opportunity presented.
Hello... here's my freewrite for the prompt vandals, as per @mariannewest's post seen here: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-174-5-minute-freewrite-wednesday-prompt-vandals. This is a rather odd one (not that that's something new... Though perhaps I'm just starting to realize it :/). Anyway, enjoy!
"Johnny Was A Vandal"
Public rest rooms were his favorite: the dirtier the better.
He liked to try and find the cleanest part of the dirtiest stall; and it was there he "did his business."
His tag, that is--
(What were you thinking?)
By his graffiti, Johnny was known as Casper. It was after a character in some movie; this crazy dude from the movie, Kids (1995) written by Harmony Korine.
In the film, Casper rapes a young woman named Jenny, who had passed out on the couch at a party in New York City.
Little did the rapist know, but Jenny had actually found out just earlier that day that she was HIV positive, having contracted the disease from a previous encounter.
"Casper, the friendliest ghost, the friendliest ghost in the whole wide world..." the character bellowed during one scene, while lying in a bathtub fully clothed.
Johnny liked to quote this line-- especially when he, too, happened to be in a bath.
He pulled off to a Pilot truck stop--the kind with pay-by-the-minute showers--just a way down Highway 41.
Then, with his black marker out: he began to draw.

I've never seen that movie, but recently saw something about Harmony Korine. Everything seemed so disturbing I didn't get the feeling I should watch it.
Good story though.
Lol really? What was it? Yes, Kids was one of his first projects. he also did a film called Gummo which is really really amazing, imo. Yes, it is "disturbing." Hell, just look at this small snippet from a movie he wrote entitled kids lol (it was NC-17, btw; Korine wrote it at 19). All about these kids in NYC who are basically drugging and fucking each other to death. Actually, here's something not too bad: it's kind of "Tom Greene-ish" in a way (he even kind of looks like him lol)? Kind of stupid and smart at same time. Gummo was definitely my favorite I've seen by him.
.Yeah, it was mostly about Gummo and kids. It was something on Youtube I think. I'll try to remember.
I think it was saying that he was maybe autistic or something?
Dude, this got me on a little kick watching interviews of Korine on Letterman--the guy is freakin hilarious as hell. holy fuck lmao check it out.
Yeah, that was what I remembered from the video. They showed his Letterman appearances. He plays a pretty good awkward guy. Maybe that's why I thought he was autistic.
Hahaah, that's hilarious. It's almost like he's "trolling" before trolling was a thing lol
Exactly. Oh, and I have a semi secret contest for followers if you want a chance to win some SBD. So far there`s only two others, so pretty good odds. lol
Awesome, man; I'll check it out!
