The jungle! A weekend freewrite

This is the weekend freewrite challenge. I am using @mariannewest’s #weekendfreewrite, to write this piece please read here. After starting a successful business with his sister Mary, Mark decides to travel to the jungle as a tourist in search of new ideas. I hope you enjoy my fiction story.
The jungle
The big what if. Would he have gone there anyway?
After several months of organizing the excursion to the jungles in the Amazon, Mark was finally there.
He wanted to take those days to rest after the intense work days of the last months which had allowed him to publicize the franchise throughout his country.
One of his clients convinced him to make a trip with a group to get to know uninhabited places, in which he would only hear the sound of owls and the howling of animals during the night.
Finally to get to the site they had to use a small plane which landed on a narrow rural track in the middle of the jungle.
As accommodation the site had cabins that were surrounded by a metal fence, illuminated only by lanterns, without internet access. After being located in their rooms they went out to tour the surroundings with a guide, they had to walk more than two hours to reach a small lake that received its waters from a waterfall.
The places they were showing were of unique beauty, Mark had never imagined that nature could hide so many beauties.
Restless from exhaustion, everyone was awake the second night.
So after dinner there were some terrifying howls coming from the jungle. When he asked the guide what it was he told them that it came from the nearby village in which a sorcerer was communicating with the spirits of good to ward off bad influences.
They already knew that magic arts were practiced in that place but they never imagined that they would impact them, altering their senses.
Suddenly the sky was illuminated with rays of light and the thunder in the distance announced a downpour, everyone ran to shelter in the main cabin, there in a corner remained a dog with her puppies.

Everyone trembled in fear, but in that the guide approached to calm the animal and said:
"She has those teeth but is harmless, recently suffered an accident that keeps her there"
So everyone approached, to see that she was helpless. One of them handed him a piece of bread that she immediately ate.
At the end of the night one of them began to pray and praise God, the rest of the group joined the prayers, after several hours and at dawn everyone fell asleep, suddenly woke up suddenly startled at the sound of a trumpet.
After the experience of those two nights in the jungle they made the decision to return to the city, they had already experienced what it was like to be far from civilization. They wanted to return to the hustle and bustle of the planned daily life.
From that moment on his return Mark had already managed to treasure a reference of what his business could offer his customers as a novelty and bring them the idea of what his life in the jungle could be.

@felixgarciap I had never caught on to the fact that Mary and Mark were brother and sister. I am glad he made it back home safely.
