She made a decision! A weekend freewrite
Dear friends
This is the weekend freewrite challenge. I am using @mariannewest’s #weekendfreewrite to write this piece please read here. Continuing with Mary's life, after nail biting, much to think, she made a decision. Then, I hope you enjoy my fiction story.
She made a decision
Standing on the chair, she and Tom had scratched away at the bones
That's what she remembered from her last boyfriend Tom. They began an idyllic courtship but in the end they were all discussions.
Now with Peter's proposal, she felt flattered since she had not had a good suitor for some time, her friend was certainly attractive to her but she did not want to risk.
Something that was in the environment was about government support for more marriages. Mary therefore was not convinced that Peter really was sincere.
She just thought inside what she would say to him later:
"I know there are lots of you who don’t like government interference
I am one of those people, I don't believe in the goodwill of what they want to show me as a gift."
She said it to Peter. He immediately sighed deeply:
"Mary, I didn't think you were going to get so tangled up with the promise I'm making you be together until the end of our days."
Mary replied:
"It seems little to you.
Now marriages do not last for a lifetime that only happened to my grandparents."
the blue envelope on the floor
What is this? Said Mary.
"Open it, maybe there is the answer to what you are looking for."
Mary opened the envelope and found a gift with a gold ring with a diamond set.
Unable to believe what she saw, she finally put it on.
And without thinking she told Peter.
"Yes, we will be together all our lives."
After much to think about, she made a decision.
The end.
