5 Minute Freewrite Day 562: 100 kilos of fish
In all his years as a fisherman, Noriyuki never tough that he would be seeing what was now in front of his eyes. At first the misty air of early morning masked what was inside the garage in front of which he was instructed by the foreign newcomer to bring his freezer truck full with 100 kilos of fish, but not any fish, it was a considerable amount of freshly captured swordfish, still shiny and majestic.
Noriyuki had received a call around 4am asking if they had that specific kind of fish, “how much you need?” he answered, because of course they had some (they always did), and he was told to bring all available to the newly rented house in the shore ASAP, he would be paid in cash. He was thinking what use could a lonely 20-something man may have for so much fish, and his answer was a deep growl coming from where the boat should be.
Soon, a big and long snout whose nostrils expelled a mist-like air appeared, looked at him, and then towards the back of the truck, and started walking, showing its scaly body of pristine turquoise.
“It would do us good if you opened the back of your truck, she’s quite hungry” said the voice of the foreigner with his characteristically poor accent.
