RE: The Pillow Story (5 Minute Freewrite)
My memories of these childhood events seem to usually end in something breaking, that sound always attracted Mom from whatever corner of the house and away from whatever busy task she was engrossed in at the time. I think the distraction away from something important, and the fear that one of us was hurt is what drew out her emotional outburst that caused us to shrink into our corners and be filled with shame. Of course, if the punishment was not too severe we were back at it in just a few minutes, but now we had in the back of our minds that one more mistake and we were toast! So there was a much greater element of caution involved now. 👍
Yup. things breaking! why, I ask you, are there breakable things in a house with children? lol
The great thing about freewriting is that you can change the plot midway through. Originally, it really was going to be grown men fighting in a warehouse with pillows. But then again, we're assuming the boys in my story are young. Are they? ;-) That's up to you. I had a lot of fun with that one.
