Day 129: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: fingernail

How would you feel to be born different from the rest? Deformed and not fitting to society's standards of ‘normal’. Freak, weirdo, even alien are some of the words he had been called - but the one that stuck the most was fingernails. John (nails) was born with his fingers as nails - it was a miracle he was born at all. During primary school and through college he had always been bullied but he was proud of who he was (anyway he was basically like wolverine right??!). However Nails didn't want to fight crime in the way that Xmen and other superheroes did - he wanted to fight against bullying and make people be proud of who they are no matter how different that may be. So he decided to start the Fingernails institute - fighting against bullying. He would go on to run lectures all around the world describing his upbringing and life and how he had been bullied and what techniques he had used to overcomes these. Be strong don't be afraid of the bullies and foster those people in your life who are important to you and see you for who you are rather than just your ‘freakish’ physical appearance. We can all learn from nails - be strong even if you have nails for fingers!
