Day 76: 5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: Ducks

in #freewrite7 years ago

This is a story of pain, of justice, of vengeance, of famliy. But most importantly, it is a story about love. Love so strong and powerful that it transcends thought, it transcends race, it transcends language and even species.

This is the story of 2 ducks - Quackerio and Quaklet - and what they go through when their families, from 2 rivalry lakes, fall in love and had to go through hunting season, the snake epidemic of 2011, and who can forget, when a 3rd family - The Quackers - came into the fray. They went through it all...together

Here, we find both of them, sneaking off in the middle of the night and meeting between the tall grass, hidden away from sight. But little do they know, Quacker Jr. was following them!

"Quack, quack quack quackkkk quack" he said

"Quack quack quack" she answered with pain in her eyes

"QUACK QUACK! Quack quack quack quack" hoping to appease her

"quackkkk....." she said as she turned around dramatically.

"QUACK QUACK"

"QUACKKKK?!"

"QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK" Quacker Jr. said maniacally.

"Quack quack. Quack quack quack quack." she hid behind him

BANG

"Quack? Quack quack quack?"

"Quack quack quack"

They buried him. And returned home. No one must know of this, and no one ever will.

The story above is for the Daily 5 Minute Free Write challenge by @improv and @mariannewest. It's quite a fun challenge, especially when using a tool like THE MOST DANGEROUS WRITING APP which was introduced by @maverickfoo. The app forces you to continuously write for the set amount of time or everything you wrote will disappear after a few seconds! Try it out!

This is genius! It reminds me of an improv exercise we used to do that involved using just one word or even letter and that was the only thing we could say to get an emotion across. I thought of that whilst reading your 'quacking' conversaions. Very creative! I like it!

That sounds really difficult! I was trying to make use of capitalization and punctuation to express some form of emotions. Though rather short and simple, I think what it was made sense? Maybe? I actually had the conversation panned out in my head before writing it down. Maybe someone can guess what it is! But the self-interpretation is always more fun

Brilliant freewrite mate.. it was funny and sad st the same time.. i dont know if i am tripping or something but thats how i see it.. wonderful quacking my friend

I'm glad I managed to tug at your heartstrings with my words. Just as spoken language is 80% body language and 20% the actual words. I'm hoping I can do that with my writing as well!

Quack, quack .....very disappointed
BANG ... prefect solution
You are brilliant.

Brilliant. Creative genius. Can't wait for more! Eagerly following.
