Day 61: 5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: my shoe got stuck in the mud

It's been a rough day. Nothing seems to be going right. I worked day and night for months and yet, when all is said and done, the project went amazingly well! But...the boss overlooked me for my promotion, it went to that lousy Tom that spends most of his time updating the boss and stealing the credit and glory for MY HARD WORK.

Ughhh. No point complaining now I guess. Where is that bloody Uber? It's been 30min. I need to rush home.

I guess I'll need to walk home then. Man, this rain is getting heavier and heavier. Why did the repairman have to come in today?

I run home. It's not that far, but its uphill from where I work. As I'm walking faster and faster, I get more and more tired, more and more frustrated!

SPLAT! My shoes get stuck in the mud. "Can this day get any worse?!"

Just as I uttered those words. I looked at my shoe closer. That's not mud! That's sh*t!! The gods must be looking down at me thinking, "Hey, check out this guy, he's challenging our might".

I reached home, threw my shoes into the garden. And went on with my day. Thank goodness its the weekend.

It's Monday now. Time to go back to the grind of my deadend job. Where are those damned shoes of mine?

I find them in the corner of the garden.

What's that??? - there's a small green bud growing out of the sh*t I stepped in.

Hmmm, I guess there's still some hope of life in my shitty situation after all.
