Day 45: 5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: The Smell of a Dumpster
It's been awhile, I've been travelling for so long. I have been lost and wandering in the wilderness, but finally I've found that smell again.
As I get closer, the giant green facade draws me in. I can see the smell wafting through the air it smells so good.
As I get closer, I see the crowd gathering. No, no, no! There are way too many others. I don't want to wait my turn! I have to get in before all the good stuff are gone.
Oh what is this? There's an opening in the back. All these fools are so busy fighting and struggling to get in the giant side door and the opening from the top that they forgot about the back!
I can see it now, based on the smell. There will be chicken, freshly baked bread, maybe some mushrooms if I'm lucky. It's been such a long time since I had mushrooms.
Now to slowly sneak in the back. I open the hatch.
Oh no! The others have noticed me! Thankfully though, for a small cockroach like me, I can fit in the hatch perfectly! Those crows and rats, cats and racoons, they can't possibly fit in here! I'll just have to fight away the other cockroaches.
Ahhhhhhh, finally I'm in. What a wonderful scent. The smell of a dumpster from a restaurant. What better smell can there be?
The story above is for the Daily 5 Minute Free Write challenge by @improv and @mariannewest. It's quite a fun challenge, especially when using a tool like THE MOST DANGEROUS WRITING APP which was introduced by @maverickfoo. The app forces you to continuously write for the set amount of time or everything you wrote will disappear after a few seconds! Try it out!
